Witness

Early, she seen it,
she seen what happened,

my dog. She been there
for it all. She had it out

with the mortgage company,
the ex-wife, the fiancée,

the Lovely Etceteras
etc. I look over

and she’s the only one
still there, still there

since the Alamo.
She seen

everything, she been there
and she won’t

break my heart.
