She Has Her Ways

The first thing she didn’t do
this morning

was watch the weather
or the local news.

Then she didn’t read
her horoscope

or check to see where
her moon was.

After that, she didn’t
make plans,

look in the mirror,
or do anything

with her hair.

All she did was
walk down to the lake.

Before she even
got on the water

she could tell
today had been

a beautiful day.
Somehow, she always

already knows.
