Novel Idea or Got Her on a Technicality

So, I told her
I just finished
my first novel.
“Um-hmm, um-hmm,
pretty big deal, yeah.
Took a lot out of me,
but, feels pretty good.
Pretty proud of myself.”

That worked
like a champ.
Took her home
from the bar,
one thing led
to another,
you know,
badabing.

Of course,
the next morning
she wanted to know
what it was about etc.
and then she
got all pissed-off
when I told her,
“I don’t know, babe,
I don’t remember
a whole lot of it.
I’ll have to
read it again.”

Gentlemen, if you’re
on the East Coast,
the bars don’t close
for another hour.
