Linen Before Easter

Don’t tell the ladies
at the Garden Club,

don’t ruffle their lilies.
This morning I decided

to press the issue.
I got out the starch

and the iron
and I broke out

the linen.
Don’t tell the Romans

or my personal
assistant. God knows

there are consequences
for flouting

convention.
