Desperately Needed Rain

It looks like we’re
about to get

some desperately
needed rain.

Not the normal kind
but, the desperately

needed kind.
The kind where,

it’s been so long
even the swamps

are on fire.
The local news says

this rain is desperately needed,
and for once,

I believe them.
Although, my dogs

don’t really
seem to agree.
