Deborah Harvey

(1959-2017)

I don’t know how
to tell your story,

so I won’t. I do know
the world wanted

you to stay around
so badly

it was willing
to bottle the elements

and bring them
to your door.

Now, every acre of this
beautiful Earth

wants you
for its own.

I don’t know how
to tell your story

or how you
so gracefully

endured it.
Finally, it won’t matter

which little corner
gets to keep you

when you’ve already honored
this whole indescribable place.
