Busy Shelling Pecans

Nothing, I was just

talking to that pecan.
Either, I’ve lost my mind

or that pecan has.
Damn thing won’t get shelled.

I spent all day picking up
around that honey tree

and this is the thanks I get?
Try paying your light bill

with pecans, it ain’t easy,
and I’d appreciate a little

cooperation. Say what, Rick?
Nothing, I’m just trying to talk

these pecans into meeting me
halfway and helping me pay

my light bill.
